Trying to be a good black man led me to 7 years of depression—suicidal, did not love my self, unhappy, unfocused, and running in circles. I gave that up so that I could live. Now I just do the best that I can and forgive myself when I am not at my best. My subjectivity is not defined by that wack ass “good black man” script. Happy New Years!
